Get ready for two can't-miss events happening in historic downtown: the Canine Costume Contest & Puppy Parade and Children's Trick or Treat the Street. Best part? It's completely FREE (registration required). This is one howling good time you won't want to miss!
Canine Costume Contest & Puppy Parade
9:45 AM – Check-in at the Thorold Public Library (new location this year!)
10:00 AM – The Puppy Parade kicks off! Strut your stuff with fellow pups all the way to Pet Valu at Pine Plaza, where doggie treat bags and costume prizes await.
Show off your pup in one of three costume categories:
- Cobblestone Cutie
- Literary Character
- Best Friends
Children's Trick or Treat the Street
11:15 AM – Check-in begins at Thorold Library on Ormond Street. Grab your map and hit the downtown businesses (starting at 11:30 AM)!
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Trick-or-treat at participating downtown shops.
12:30 PM – Head to the Hydro Parkette on Front Street North for our costume contest and prizes. Here's the twist: businesses vote for the best-dressed kids with tickets. Bring all your tickets to the Parkette. Most votes wins!

- Thorold Centre 50+ (8 Carleton St S) – FREE hot beverages, treats and more. Selkie will be providing temporary tattoos
