Rodman Art Institute of Niagara

Rodman Art Institute of Niagara (RAiN) at the Old Fire Hall No 1 is an art experiment offered in partnership with the City of Thorold to re-purpose the currently vacant space, transforming and re-imagining this mid-century Fire Hall as a vibrant and creative community centered art and cultural space.  Over the next six months the Rodman Art Institute of Niagara, a charitable non-profit arts organization, will offer a series of exhibition, art educational, and creative public programs.  Join us as we bring the arts to the heART of downtown Thorold and Niagara Region.

Gallery Hours:

Tuesday, Friday and Saturday  10 AM to 5 PM

Wednesday and Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM

Admission is free, donations are always appreciated.

 

Educational and Public Programs:

Join us July 9th at 7 PM for our first Creative Conversation.  This monthly conversation series will kick-off with a panel discussion with the artists in the current exhibition Echoing.  Admission Free.  Suggested donation $5.

 

Art LabA free drop-in art space designed for creative exploration and experimentation open during regular gallery hours.   

 

Art BabyA weekly program launching Friday July 10th at 10 AM.  For early budding artists (0 to 2 years) and a caregiver, Art Baby combines story time featuring Canadian children’s authors and illustrators and a related age-appropriate art activity.  Members Always Free.  Non-members suggested $5 Donation

 

Art is Ageless - Our creative weekly drop-in program for adults 55+ kicks off Tuesday, July 8th from 10 AM to 12 PM.  This program is partially supported by the Rotary Club of St Catherines.  Members Always Free.  Non-members suggested $5 Donation

 

Teen Art Studio - A creative weekly drop-in program for teens 13 to 18 launches Friday, July 10th from 3 – 8 PM.  Young Artist Members Always Free.  Non-members suggested $5 Donation.

 

Wednesday Art Nights - Stop by the gallery on the way to or from the Thorold Community Market on Wednesday Evenings from 5 to 9 PM for free family art making activities

Art Shoppe - opens Monday, June 29th at 10 AM.  Sometimes art galleries just have too much art.  Take a piece of RAiN home!


Twilight Art and Vintage MarketWant to sell your original fine art or craft or share your vintage and pre-loved treasurers.  The grounds around the Fire Hall will come alive every third Thursday for our Twilight Art Market and fourth Thursday for our Twilight Vintage / Pre-loved Market.  Visit website or socials for vendor info and application and join us from 5 to 9 PM to shop for original and creative art and vintage finds.
